I fight against depression

Single childless, recently unemployed, in therapy, I reproduced all my life errors in my choice of work, and in my dating (altruistic not to be alone without necessarily love the l 'other). Today, I am fighting against depression. Thank you for giving me just a few tracks to raise my head and regain courage! My days are long and I begin to fold under the quilt ... Véronique, 43

What do we learn by working for years with people end of life in a palliative care unit? What do we mean from those people who are sick with cancer or any other terminal pathology who, having reached the end of their lives, are risking a re-reading of their lives? ... Sometimes, a feeling of completeness, a busy life and often - too often - the feeling of being missing the essential ...

Véronique, I have no answer to your question. And there are as many tracks as there are human beings. Our biggest problem as a member of this society is to be conditioned to think that there is only one model of happiness that we must absolutely conform to be "really" happy. There is no more tragic mistake, while there are a thousand other possibilities!

What would you do if this year were to be the last of your life? What would you really be meaningful so that, at the end of this year, you do not have to blush for wasting your time? Veronique, how far are you willing to go, beyond all the "excuses" that you can invoke for not moving forward? What are you ready to give of yourself? What real risks are you willing to take to authentically give meaning to your existence? How far are you able to question your personal tranquility?

You will be able to consult all the psys of the Earth, you may advance a little, but the question you ask is not just psychology. Do not abandon it completely of course but leave it a little aside from time to time ... Take this example (among many others!): Buy the 2005 report of Amnesty International, consult the website of the Red Cross, Doctors of the World or the Emmaus Foundation, knock on the door of an association helping others, whatever it is: it is not a way to escape (despite those who say that!) is a way to meet again ...

Veronique, open your eyes ... Look at the world, beyond your comforter ... Listen to what he tells you ... It's true that it's difficult to find his just right but the effort is worth the effort.See where your place can be, here - around the corner - or anywhere else ... You have everything to gain because, in a way, you say you have nothing left to lose, so please, be proud of what you have done for yourself and for others when the last day of your life comes ...
